Ogden Dunes is a town with a wonderful history. Highlights regarding our past can be accessed by clicking the topics listed on the left side of this page.

Our history stretches back to the ice age when glaciers formed the dunes on the south of what now is Lake Michigan. Ken Schoon has written a wonderful history of the early era and its everlasting impact on us.

Most of our history on this website is more recent - within the last century. Much is anecdotal and difficult to verify, but we have tried our best to separate fact from fancy, or at least to point out where fact is hard to distinguish. And we've tried to do this with a sense of humor and common sense.

Enjoy our wonderful history. Feel free to share some of yours with us.
