Octave Chanute, pioneer in aviation, experimented with his first flights in the dunes near the Miller lagoon. P. J. Nelson, a film documentarian, will discuss his new film on Octave Chanute and show a trailer of the upcoming film. He will be joined by Simine Short, author of new biography of Chanute, From Locomotive to Aeromotive: Octave Chanute and the Transportation Revolution. Nelson has also produced the recent documentary on the South Shore, “Riding the Rails”.
