Joella spent her childhood at 11 Woodland Trail in Ogden Dunes when her father worked in advertising as an art director. Surrounded by the magnificent dunes landscapes, she drew inspiration from the dunes in later life as a professional painter, spending time at the Hour Glass Museum when it was a private residence owned by OD and Tillie Frank. On October 18, Joella returned to the Hour Glass museum and gave a visual and oral presentation using examples drawn from Joella’s Arizona years and a recent exhibition shown in New York City.
She currently lives in Sedona, Arizona with her husband Larry.
More of Joella’s work may be seen on the Restone Gallery website http://www.redstonegallery.com/
